Gossip columnist Felicity Taylor is determined to rescue her best friend from the marriage bed of Ian Lennard, the notoriously wretched Viscount St. Clair. When Felicity writes a scathing article about Ian revealing his shady past in the London newspaper, her friend is mercifully saved. Little does Felicity know, however, that her act of charity will force her to sit in the hot seat instead. Ian, enraged and in desperate need of an heir, threatens to ruin Felicity's reputation if she does not repay him in marriage.
